Roller coasters for entrepreneurs

πŸ˜– Becoming an entrepreneur is not easy, (nothing new). The biggest challenge is not getting resources or making the ideal team, even finding a suitable market, huge goals with multiple challenges that contribute greatly to the massacre of startups in the first 5 years of existence. Only some survive. And yet, the real challenge is with ourselves, that battle of being who we are not yet, of learning in record time, with failures and small triumphs, that challenge of facing our frustrations and fears, or even reconsidering our life perspectives, to review our values, because yes, the biggest challenge, we give it to ourselves.

πŸ˜ͺ Depression and anxiety I would say are common but hidden themes in the entrepreneur, seeing ourselves successful, strong, sure of who we are, what we know and what we do, prevents us from accepting our humanity. We hide our fragility so that the world doesn’t find out that we scream when no one sees us.

😞 Some time ago I began to notice that anxiety was returning to me, it usually led me to work irresponsibly on shifts with no more than two hours off a day: I refused to rest. The results of those who work tired are disastrous, there is no doubt about that, and yet I did not feel tired, nor inspired, just hungry for work. It even hurt. Fortunately, in my experience as an entrepreneur, I don’t add to depression, a circumstance that does affect new dreamers at catastrophic levels.

✊Those who take action in the face of these challenges with ourselves, decide to handle it in their total privacy, it is a secret that no one, for any reason, can find out about, it is not talked about, it is not allowed to be shared, it is not something public.

🦾 Some take directed actions, professional or not, therapy or self-assisted techniques; while others hire an emotional coach, at least this seems more acceptable in the business world, well, a CEO in therapy?

πŸ‘†My conclusion is a call to action, by forgiving ourselves and knowing that we are not weak and that we are the right ones to lead the project, and that this bad moment is just that: a moment. Let’s lean on whom we want, or professionally. Everything happens and we come out of this, as we always have.
